The final report released by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) addressed the growing crisis facing Indigenous youth. The crisis goes all the way back to the Indian Residential School era, where many children were abused and neglected. In the present, Indigenous youth are overrepresented in the criminal justice and child welfare system.
