Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked Pope Francis to apologise for the role of the Catholic Church in a Canadian school system where indigenous children were abused for decades. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has also called on the papel to apologize as well. The TRC considers an apology to be a step towards healing from the trauma experienced at the hands of the church and Canadian government.
