Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa
Jacob Davis is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa from Belcourt, North Dakota. He was the first graduate of the North Dakota State University's Master of Public Health program with an American Indian Public Health Specialization. Jacob, currently works in a consultant capacity as a Tribal Data Liaison for Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota which allows him to work with two of the five tribes in the state of North Dakota through the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visitation program. His previous work has included serving as the Project Coordinator for the National Indigenous Elder Justice Initiative and the National Resource Center on Native American Aging which are both housed at the University of North Dakota. These professional experiences led him to serve as a member of multiple organizations related to American Indian health research. Currently, Jacob serves as an Advisor for the National Indian Health Board's Public Health in Indian County Capacity Survey, a resource for the USDHHS Office of Minority Health Resource Center, the interim Vice Chair of the North Dakota Cancer Coalition, and was recently accepted to participate in the eight cohort of the Native Nations Rebuilders Program.
On a personal note Jacob has two children Niibwin Migizi who is 6 years old and Chase Anthony who is 14 years old and is expecting a third in February 2017 with his partner Shelly Davis.
