Communications Officer
Sherrie Catanach (she/her) is an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Pojoaque in New Mexico. She is a descendant of boarding school survivors who attended the Carlisle Indian Industrial School and the Santa Fe Indian School.
Prior to joining NABS, she was the Director of Communications for the State of New Mexico's Indian Affairs Department, where she worked primarily with New Mexico’s 23 Nations, Tribes, and Pueblos to help build and strengthen government-to-government relations, as well as with the New Mexico Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives Task Force and the New Mexico Indigenous Youth Council to raise awareness and elevate their work and voices. Sherrie currently resides on Tiwa Territory (Albuquerque, NM) with her partner and their two children.
