(Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa)

1st Vice President

Ramona Klein

Ramona Charette Klein Ed. D is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and an Indian Boarding School survivor (1954-1958). She holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Special Education.

Dr. Klein is an educator and President of Eagle Consulting, Inc. She has taught at kindergartens, post doctorate programs in Bureau of Indian Affairs (Now BIE), public schools, private schools, tribal schools colleges, and universities.  Ramona has served on many local, state, regional, national and international boards of directors. She has served on accreditation teams and program evaluations for K-12 schools and universities.

Ramona’s work includes, but is not limited to, professional development for educators, leadership training, team building, “Laugh for the Health of It," and more.

Ramona volunteers in her community for service groups and community organizations. She likes setting and accomplishing goals. Ramona has made many presentations to various audiences (High Schools, Museums, Education Groups) on her boarding school experience. She has also been interviewed by several news media outlets (NPR, Holocaust Museums, People Magazine, several newspapers, Financial Times, Television News Stations,) on her boarding school experience since she testified to congress in May 2022.  She is excited to be a part of the important work that NABS is doing in this historical time: her goal is to help educate the public about the Indian Boarding School era.
