Marsha Small used ground penetrating radar to find the unmarked graves of children who died at the Chemawa Indian School near Salem, Oregon. She completed this work as part of her research for her master’s thesis. Most of the children at Chemawa were brought to the school from tribal lands throughout the western United States.
