A chilling letter was found in a shed near Alberta Canada written during the boarding school era. The letter reflects the predicament many Indigenous parents faced: punishment or send their children to residential schools. Many parents were reluctant to send their children to residential schools because of the inhumane conditions children lived in, but they often had no choice. Serving jail time was an option for parents who refused to send their children to residential schools.
