The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) is calling on Christian denominations, including the Episcopal Church to examine their history with boarding schools, locate records and documents, and issue an apology for the atrocities committed against Native people. So far, the Presbyterian Church in the US has apologized, but the Episcopalian Church has not. However, the Episcopalian Church has repudiated the Doctrine of Discovery-a document claiming Indigenous people do not have claim to the land.
