Request An Elder Care Package
The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) wishes to send our elders — who are boarding school survivors or direct descendants of boarding school survivors — a We Love You! elder care package filled with good medicines and a bunch of love.
Our elders carry irreplaceable wisdom, ancestral teachings, history, and many carry traditional languages from their homelands. Many of our elders are also keepers of our sacred and hereditary knowledge, and we are thankful for all their presence and patience among us.
Right now, during the COVID-19 pandemic, all of us are working hard to stay safe and healthy, having to be separated from our loved ones or not getting to see neighbors and friends in order to protect one another. Still, we want our elders to know that we are thinking about them.
Each care package is put together with love and prayers. Each will be unique and filled with items from across Turtle Island, that were created or produced by Indigenous artists, healers, entrepreneurs, companies, and friends. All of whom have offered their gifts with prayers and care.
So, to our elders, we hope these care packages are healing for you, and NABS wants you to know that you are important to us, that we care about your health and wellness, and that We Love You!
ELIGIBILITY
Boarding school survivors and direct descendants of survivors aged over 60 are eligible to receive a care package. You are encouraged to request a care package for a family member if they satisfy these requirements.
(Please note that ALL requested information is required in order for the care package to be delivered. We will NOT share any of this personal information with any outside entity under any circumstances. We will review each request and deliver care packages on a first come, first serve basis. Depending on the volume of requests, we cannot guarantee that everyone will receive a care package, but we will do everything possible to satisfy all requests.)
